I Once Was Blind But Now I See
Grotesquely Captured
Many years ago there was a concept of an elephant man.
I don't believe this was an actual being but one distorted for monetary gain.
For the ones who made this happen must have had it in their minds of the wealth he would bring.
Truly this was an incident of the wildest proportion I have ever heard.
Grotesquely captured was this “elephant man”.
Confined behind bars and non-free to roam.
I felt like this for a long time; in my youth.
Not that I was like this “man” but was grotesque.
I was made to feel I was a non-entity and have no place in the world.
But this has thankfully all changed.
It is hoped this “man” was the figment of someone's warped imagination.
I hate to think there was such a man for real.
