Time once hers and yours to share
Time to leave and also wear
Upon your heart while she is here
You're best of friends, your mother dear
Concern now fills your days with pain
Eyes yours green have much sustained
The thought of her leaving today
This thought that takes your breath away
You, daughter mother conceived
Her mother in you believed
This bond that saw through thick and thin
The child she raised, become woman
And though my words won't bring to close
You understanding, I came to know
Two good things upon this Earth
Started with Joan and you she birthed
For my friend and coworker Patty whose mother is in her last days
Never Let Go
