WILL THE TEARS LEAVE

When I go to church
I cannot help
But cry
I don't know why
It's just
When I look into the eyes
Of someone preaching
Something comes over me
The liquid love
Pours out
Because maybe God
Wants that for me
To rid myself
Of demons
That keep screaming
On my insides
That maybe I'm not
Good enough
For Jesus to stand up for me
At a later time
When I won't have to rhyme
With this life
That seems to make the pain
Come out of my eyes
Rolling on
To the Father
To the Son
To the Holy Spirit
To the lost little girl
Inside me
Who thinks her skinned knee
Is God's doing
For pulling a
Kitten's tail
To burn in hell forever
Afraid of God
I am sorry
To be odd
Sometimes
A poet
With too much to say
Too many tears to cry
A life lived
At fifty-seven
One step closer to heaven
Because of salvation
God is my salutation
He is dear
To keep me here
Protected
Corrected
Loved
Gloved
With fingers to sing praises
Raises
The tears to my Father
Above
Then always there is love
Can't you see
There will always be tears
Will there always be fears
When the Grace of God
Comes to me?
