Poetic-Verses
IF
If I have walked by those lanes
Of corruption, avowing myself a chaste man
Yet covered my rottenness
Which God alone understands
I have wounded apathy
And must examine, Truth,
If love is right
If I have halted by the door of insolence
And picked up a quarrel at my maker
And made tunes of hatred
(Why should I say I am right?)
Yet whistled through of hated bravery
Forsaking sobriety
I have damaged epiquence1
Love has the answer
1 - Epiquence - eternity
Of corruption, avowing myself a chaste man
Yet covered my rottenness
Which God alone understands
I have wounded apathy
And must examine, Truth,
If love is right
If I have halted by the door of insolence
And picked up a quarrel at my maker
And made tunes of hatred
(Why should I say I am right?)
Yet whistled through of hated bravery
Forsaking sobriety
I have damaged epiquence1
Love has the answer
1 - Epiquence - eternity
