'' Another Child Will Die ''
The children of this world belong to us all,
So why do we refuse to hear their call,
Every day another will fall,
On who are they supposed to rely?
It's all around us every day,
These poor souls don't have a say,
Some really know no other way,
We've got to ask ourselves why.
Some are treated as giro cheques,
Just another of life's rejects
This attitude really does perplex,
We're all party to this lie.
They look to us to treat them well,
In effect they're under our spell,
Yet some are treated to a life of hell,
Just too scared to reply.
We are the blind, who refuse to see,
Why do we not hear their plea?
I'm alright Jack it isn't me,
As their innocent lives go awry.
We're supposed to teach them how to survive,
Instil the knowledge they need to thrive,
Yet still there are those who will deprive,
To care they don't even try.
One of them goes missing for four long years,
Those in the know do not shed tears,
When found it confirms our worst fears,
No chance to say goodbye.
Another caught eating from a filthy bin,
Standing there just bone and skin,
Adults doing nothing, was a deadly sin,
Their own rules they did not apply.
After every death lessons will be learned,
The next victim shows we are not concerned,
The respect of these innocents must be earned,
Can nobody hear their cry.
They must be given our total respect,
It's our moral duty to protect,
We cannot ignore their gross neglect,
It's a crime we must all decry.
It's a travesty we no longer can deny,
The rights of scum we must defy,
If we don't act now the end is nigh,
