Why are we sleeping?
Our homeland is under fire;
we are the enemy,
the greed of man for power.
Afraid to speak,
our tongue turned to crime.
We sit in the shadows, watching;
watching our family fade away.
Why are we sleeping?
Afraid to acknowledge the truth?
Our homeland is dying;
she is dying,
yet we live on, no care in the world.
Refuse to believe.
Refuse to see.
Refuse to care,
yet we left it all be.
Why are we sleeping?
Is there more we can do,
or do we just watch?
Watch as we fall.
Watch as we become enslave,
enslaved by those we created.
Taken from our family;
lost without a home.
A nightmare soon to come,
if we don't wake up.
Why are we sleeping,
when our homeland is under fire?
Losing to a corrupt mind,
with hate in their hearts;
we coward in fear,
to watch afar, sleeping.
Why are we sleeping?
