Sympathy Is Not the Answer

Being forlorn is something I  am having to recognize today.
Sympathy is not the answer though that I seek.
I am wishing for someone to be close to me and be a friend.
One who knows the pain of being totally alone and able to share the feeling.
I am not wanting a violin to play o'er my situation.
For the sound would be too morbid and trite.
What I seek is for a friend to hang with me for a time and brush the sadness away.
This is the peace I seek and am intently looking to achieve.
But it must be a useless act of desperation for no one is making themselves available.
The imminent peace I should be feeling from being a Christian has all dried.
I am totally alone in this world and without anyone to help.
When will my longing to change end?
When will it be my time of a reprieve?
What will my family think if anything happens to me?
Will they care?
Questions without answers make me more forlorn and sad.
