Marriage by God's design is the union of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:18).
Some say that it is the ceremony (wedding) that makes the man and woman married;
God's word tells us that it is the joining of flesh that makes the marriage
(Genesis 2:24).
Hosea 2:19 :
And I will betroth you to me forever.
I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice,
in steadfast love and in mercy.
