IS SOMEONE THERE?
Passing the dim, smokey clouds,
The silver moon haunts
The shadows coming in and out
Of trees stationed
Like guards of the old, quaint, house
A light tapping is heard…
Is someone there?
Or is it the wind that tickle
The finger-like twigs poking
The chamber's door
The old rocking chair by the porch swings
Back and forth
Is someone there?
Or is it the wind that hums
the breath of cold
wavering wicks are snuffed out
is someone there?
a ghost perhaps who loves
to give the old lady company
or is it the wind
that comes and goes
gracing the scent of candles
instead of roses
which silence
only knows for years….
