Letter To Heaven (Dear Thomas) We’ve never met here in this life… But I am good friends with your wife. She’s really special, as you know, Because you always told her so. I know your Kathy is remembering An autumn day…a golden ring… A string of pearls…the words “I do”… All the happiness that you once knew. She often visits yesterday… Where memories will come to play On a drawing pad or harvest moon Or some sweet, sentimental tune. She misses you…misses your touch. She still loves you, oh, so very much. Gazing at the children you two had Brings back a picture of their dad. But life goes on and so must she. She must fulfill her destiny. Yet you lay gentle on her mind Still cherished in the ties that bind. If this letter comes as a surprise… It simply just materialized. It wasn’t anything I planned… I don’t do poetry on demand. So God must surely be involved… In case I’m asked, the mystery’s solved. Of course, my thoughts were turned your way Because today’s your special day. It’s my wish you both be truly blessed With shivers of pure happiness Of yesterday’s sweet memory. Have a Happy Anniversary!
