Not A Ghost of a Chance

Halloween is quickly moving upon us.
I mostly think of this time as horrific and strange.
There is a young man of whom I am aware who will not forget this upcoming holiday.
There is no ghost of a chance he will.
For you see some years ago over 40 some years ago he accidentally killed a child with his car.
The child was dressed in a regular sheet without the use of any eyeholes.
The young man's first name is Paul.
Well, Paul, had gone down Friendly Road when he happened to strike the child.
Instantly killed the little one he was heart broken over it.
I don't believe Paul ever wanted to drive again but does today.
He was not blamed for the accident of all sort of punishment only to himself.
This is so sad for it is a true occurrence and one I have remembered these forty years.
It is a time when merriment is to overtake a child but for this one he never made it home.
Not a ghost of a chance of Paul ever getting over this incident.
For it is something which has stayed with him since it happened.
I feel sad for Paul and the pain he must go through every Halloween.
For it was then as we said this incident happened.
