Gonna Reach

Gonna reach the sunshine in my soul
Gonna find my pot of gold
Gonna reach until I touch the clouds
Pull the child out of old
 Inhale life’s gracious sweetness
Smell the bloom of honeysuckle
Taste the salty smell of sea
 And delight in precious chuckles
Gonna reach a little more
Gonna hold that lonely hand
Gonna read the bible on my shelf
Gonna reach to understand
Reach the trees in Mariposa Grove
Upon Yosemite’s National Park
Gonna bite that poison ivy
Gonna paint the black right out of dark
Gonna smile all the way home
Gonna skip instead of walk
Gonna reach for my sweet Jesus
Gonna pray instead of talk

Gonna sing that song inside my head
Gonna dust the cobwebs out
Gonna dance with Jesus everyday
Gonna Restep towards his route
