MISBEGOTTEN FRIENDSHIPS

Years pass by,
where memories seem to fade
  into a fog of yesterdays
Where miles and miles of empty spaces
weave a tangled web of misbegotten friendships
Through life's every day trials and tribulations,
those once the dearest of friends,
Are lost somewhere
between yesterday's neighbors that moved away
or those that chose to live a life of solitude
Letter's written with remembrances of when,
and how are things going with you?
Yet, somehow the letters written in earnest
seem unable to find the mailbox,
or letters received simply never get answered
Finding the time to just sit down,
or picking up the phone to reconnect with childhood friends,
even loved ones
where you both promised to keep in touch
The years roll by so fast
Some misbegotten friendships fade into the fog
Somewhere in the back of your mind,
Mental pictures of forgotten friends appear,
touching the strings leading to your heart
Contacting them after all these years,
becomes a priority
call them to rekindle the greatest of friendships
The feeling
is more than words could ever express!
