Through the Broken Window

Trevor and Sybil had been hard at playing a game of catch.
When accidentally the ball went through the neighbor's window.
Rushing over there the two was aghast at what they saw.
There were the neighbors laying on the floor passed out.
They first thought it was the ball that struck them but wasn't.
Upon closer observation, they discovered the two had been shot.
Immediately calling the police they were frantic to see this unfolding before their eyes.
It was through the broken window the two had seen someone die.
The thought never left them and they were aghast for the longest time; in their pondering what happened.
The two were laid to rest side by side as they were found.
