The Christmas Which Almost Wasn't

There was a time of the holidays where my parents were still very much alive.
The only drawback to the holiday was when Mom became ill.
Having temporal lobe seizures most of her adult life she had many on Christmas Day this particular year.
For me it was a time of merriment and joy for I had  been given some new clothes.
The sad part about this was Mom had twenty-four seizures in one day.
This why I say it is the Christmas which almost wasn't.
For no one could really enjoy the day for Mom being so ill.
It was a sad time for the ones who stood by her and watched with nothing they could ever do.
The Lord was gracious though for Mom went off to sleep each time and peacefully slept.
This is a true happening and will be remembered for many years to come.
