I ask in the name of the Lord,
That your duty is not ignored;
He will judge the living and dead,
Through that day when you will be fed.
And appearing from up0on His throne,
He will be preaching on His own;
Preaching the Word of the Gospel,
Unto the assembled people.
I tell you since Christ comes to rule,
Please do not be some kind of fool;
So be ready to spread the Word,
And all from me that you have heard.
Whether or not the time is right,
Remember wisdom and insight;
That Christ has given unto you,
For helping in seeing you through.
Point out errors and warn people,
Where they have strayed from the Gospel;
But it is not for to condemn,
But a means to encourage them.
Be very patient as you teach,
But not to scold while you preach;
Reprove and rebuke as you say,
The words for to stop them to stray.
For the time will come they endure,
While listening and ignore;
They will start getting itching ears,
That will be shrugging off their fears.
You must keep a clear heart and mind,
For remaining humbled and kind;
Doing as a missionary,
Instead of a mercenary.
