Present Tense
I watch him
He sits with empty eyes
Trembling from within
When alone I bet he cries
Despite looking weak
I’d say he’s strong
Don’t think he’ll break
But I could be wrong
He gets up, walks to the door
I ask what’s on his mind
He says he caught a glimpse of the future
And he’s leaving it behind
