To say i am a bad poet
I respect your opinion
My poetry is a rant
I prefer it to the old traditional journal
Ripped pieces all over lockers
Read out allowed publicly mortified
Face down, pelted in fruits and eggs
Unsafe from my own thoughts
Nor was it slander it was merely meant for me to see
It was between me and God
Chased by teens with knives God gave me a lucky escape as if the humiliation wasn't enough for them
I never wanted anyone to read what was agony inside
Nor did i want my dirty laundry hung outside
Each tear that i cried i always had my poetry to drain out the torture
It is a rant and a ramble and a cry for help
It is from experience and if you cannot relate to me you aren't on my level
Not your type of poetry or cup of tea, but you can't call anybody a bad poet
We might not get everyone we read or we may not like it
All shapes and sizes in bodies and tastes in foods
So many words together make strong rhythm, imagery, prose and rhyme
Different types and ways so many famous poets
I wish i could live up to Shakespeare, but He is one in a million
Carol Ann Duffy was amazing to have written Valentine
An onion described her passion and her love for her lover
John Agard was amazing how he described being half caste
My poetry is rants to you, but to others they understand it
They enjoy my heartfelt writes and my love for my father which sadly i can only write it
I would photo copy him my love on hundreds of papers and float them up to heaven on helium balloons but I'd feel sorry for the trees
Rants and rambles make good poets if you have nothing to say or nothing to think what will you write
(this was inspired by someone who messaged me on fb)
