Remembrance Day

Remember me as the clock strikes the 11th hour.
How I laid myself open to enemy fire,
Take two tiny minutes and remember me,
How I fought against foe for my country.

How I dodged bullets and missiles and marched on Again,
Determined to ensure fellow soldiers had not died in vain,
We carried on battling though our hearts were aching,
Killing to survive as another morning was breaking.

We fought for our families, country and Queen,
Witnessing things we wish we`d never seen,
We honoured our uniform and we battled on,
Until our title and our honour and the fight had been won.

We fought for the future, present and past,
So freedom and safety could be ours at last,
So as the 11th day comes and the 11th hour strikes,
Remember our fallen heroes who died during fight.
