There was a time of circumstance
A place where two would taste romance
Though simply put in words this day
It meant much more I'd have to say
It's been awhile since our last toast
And ambiance I miss the most
As porch swing led to swing away
Our lives as one and dreams made way
My birthday passed and so did hers
Without a call or card to stir
Emotions that are now archived
Inside our hearts, tested and tried
For some reason or seasons changed
Our walk, our talk became estranged
And no more corks are pulled yet still
I tap unto my heart that's filled
She was and is still held unto
Another day, of her I drew
Her scent of sandalwood so real
And pine combs fresh, inhaled I steal
A moment now, of moments then
Of her that love still brings often
To mind, to soul, a need to hold
If just a taste of her I stole
As beautiful as this White Rose
