On  A Cold Winter's Night

Mom was the one who would bundle us in a quilt to keep us warm on a cold winter's night.
The memories of such a time is very much present with me even today.
A joyful experience of feeling warm and toasty is the way Mom had planned it.
An awesome quilt was what she'd wrap around us.
On  a cold winter's night the stars were brightly shining and had a message all their own.
It was a time of joy and wonderment for us to experience the feelings that were ours.
My older brother had been complacent and uncommitted to the arrangement though I personally loved it for it was such a blessing to have such warmth.
This is a special time for me to remember the joys and the sorrows today for Mom is gone.
I wrap myself up in a blanket and a sheet thinking to myself this is my quilt of warmth for myself.
Knowing full well the quilt we used to have has been discarded and thrown out as a rag.
The memory is there and will remain to be a part of my history.
