Something About Us
...and the room divided
by the critics of human decency
A shift of posture
the scent of merging flesh
and the minds would gather
There will always be war
and it's battle of revenge
the reversal and it's rehearsal
The continuation of power
and it's monumental creed
We came together
to separate
Another attachment
became the root of our suffering
...and I suffer you
The tree in the far distance
it's old bones would speak
if we would just listen
The prejudice intuitions
will have faded with days of old
Those new babies will have grown
and either lost their morals
or were never given proper guidance
My eyes blur with trouble
it has become the sore of our nation
We weep for life and it's indifference
Our fathers and mothers
roll over inside their graves
Here we buried old Sam
inside a gown of white linen
we prayed his soul go to heaven
I reached for a hand
not anyone's hand
but a hand of strength and courage
My soul aches for someone
to lift me up as I am shaken
here I have fallen too
This pressure to stand among the strong
brings me to my decrepit feet
I shall become inviolable
for those whom bring me upright
there I kiss their working hands
and embrace them for being human
We shall stand tall upon the rim
that Merlot rim of majestic mountain
where the sun sprays a crimson sky
upon one line of faith driven people
Sharing the same detrimental plight
for those whom might linger behind
hidden behind grandfathers bony trees
Free yourself from the adult
that you have became
Hear the voices of truth
and it's story's of wisdom
Remember innocence
pull it from your recesses
let it breathe
Bring it up front
clean your center
remove all heavy debris
Remember who you are
Love and light
Let yourself glisten
and shimmer as you were
Align yourself
walk your path barefoot
and be proud...
