"Blessed be God, the Father of Christ Jesus, our Lord, the all-merciful Father and the God of all comfort! He encourages us in all our trials, so that we may also encourage those in any trial, with the same comfort that we receive from God.
-2nd Corinthians Chapter 1:3-4
I join each and everyone for the prayers
for my country, the Philippines
who has been recently stricken by a tragedy
brought by Super typhoon (Haiyan) Yolanda
the heartaches and pains
are too much to bear
and we pray for God's healing
that amidst all these,
the victims will find
the strength and courage
to move on, and will one day,
see the world filled
with so much love and inspiration . . .
for them
i dedicate this poem.
Trembling hands and feet
Ravaged the desolate streets
For anything that they could find
To quench the thirst and fill the cravings−combined
fierce winds were stilled, turbulent waters receded
But grief summoned the dawn as cold bodies−embedded
There was an outbreak of tears
Like Rachel weeping for her children beneath a canopy of fears
Young and old were not spared
From the gnarling fangs and claws bared
Of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) one dreadful night
When innocent lives were enveloped in their worst fright
Intense the wails, louder the screams
Leaving them homeless, widows, and orphans with shattered dreams….
But thanks to our brothers and sisters from foreign lands
*Thus says the LORD: In Ramah is heard the sound of sobbing, bitter weeping! Rachel mourns for her children, she refuses to be consoled for her children—they are no more!( Jeremiah 31:15)

Jesus Calms the Storm
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" (Matthew 8:23-27)
