My Memories of Thanksgiving Day

With expectancy, I was always looking forward to Thanksgiving Day.
It meant we would be out of school and other things would be happening.
There was a joy of looking toward the turkey that Mom would prepare.
I felt the time of the year was getting closer to the greatest day of the year.
Seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, on TV, was a prelude to greater times.
It was almost automatic for the time of being good to your neighbors and forgiving one another were the things that captivated my mind and heart.
There was a singular joy experienced; in the time of Thanksgiving that no other time had to offer.
The joy feeling happy was special to me and to so many others.
A sense of joy and wonder was seen on our faces.
Teachers and students alike were looking forward to the season to come as it did every year.
A sense of wonderment and expectancy was paramount; in our hearts.
See the decorations that began to show on the houses for Christmas time.
A time of being benevolent and forgiving were the call of the day.
Joy which was beyond compare was ours to share and to see on the faces of those younger than ourselves.
These are the memories of Thanksgiving Day for the ones I love and for myself.
