Poetic-Verses

'' Try Thinking Before You Stare ''

Nobody would ask to be this way,
But like most we didn't have a say,
Ignorance is the image that you portray,
When you give us a horrified glare.

As I sit in my wheelchair enjoying life,
Why do some folk give me strife?
I can hear and talk as well as my wife,
No wonder I bloody swear.

My skin complaint must fascinate,
Among some it's the cause of great debate,
To talk about me you just can't wait,
It really isn't fair.

I suffer from a genetic disease,
When you look at me you feel unease,
If you want to know just say please,
No need to feel despair.

When I was badly burned in a fire,
The consequences for me were dire,
He'd be better dead incites my ire,
 Those comments drive me spare.

The list of problems some endure,
Yes we'd love to find a cure,
Our future you could help procure,
Just by making yourself aware.

Some of you can be really cruel,
Bullying and ignorance are the acts of a fool,
No Human Being should be classed as a ghoul,
It's not our intention to scare.

Instead of running a country mile,
Why not try a friendly smile,
Try to make our lives worthwhile,
Instead of portraying, ‘' BEWARE ''

What a boring world if we were all the same,
No feelings of guilt or of shame,
No excuses or someone to blame,
No problems to compare.

Just as you have talents so have we,
With regard to yours we may disagree,
Give us a chance and soon you will see,
We all have that certain flair.

Inside we're exactly the same as you,
Loving, caring, just trying to get through,
It's a ‘'normal'' life we're trying to pursue,

‘' Try Thinking Before You Stare ‘'
