I saw a lamb standing, Near the throne with elders; And four creatures living, As to each one ponders. The lamb looked to be slain, With seven horns and eyes; But appeared not in pain, And to be very wise. Seven spirits of God, The eyes and ears would be; Sent to honor and laud, For the whole world to see. He took the scroll in hand, From who sits on the throne; To read a new command, That the Lord did condone. When the lamb had taken, The elders bowed in first; Knowing not forsaken, Or not hunger or thirst. Prayers from holy people, Then proceeded in song; Thinking of the Gospel, Make right of the wrong. Take the scroll open seals, Because you were slaughtered; You know just how it feels, How much you have wandered. You have bought with your blood, The people from all tribes; Were baptized with the flood, Their hearts your name inscribes. Copyright © 2013 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
