I appeal to your elders, And the spiritual leaders; In faith you are the builders, For the sheep be the feeders. For so many it was sealed, Of glory that will be shared; Suffering that is revealed, How much Christ really cared. It is more than merely talk, God has entrusted to you; Be shepherds over the flock, Feed them all of which is true. Watch over them just like God, Not to do because you must; Rather care for when be flawed; Help them to regain their trust. Do not do it out of greed, Rather as a desire; In serving every seed, Helping what they require. Do not be lord over them, God has entrusted in you; He might decide to condemn, What you are trying to do. Be examples for the flock, And then when Christ reappears; You wear a crown as you walk, As the tribulation nears. So if you truly believe, You will see it on that day; A crown of glory receive, That will never fade away. Copyright © 2013 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
