Chances are you'll miss the why
The reason too, you let slip by
Your chance to see what made it so
If stop you would to even know
It's not the gifts with ribbon red
Or ornaments upon tree spread
But of the child that came to be
The reason for today, you see
He came unto a world to bring it peace
To one and all and too the least
Love unlike you'll ever feel
Love the kind, no doubt but real
His being here was all by choice
His Fathers will by father's voice
A sacrifice to wear your scars
Life for yours, The Morning Star
Purchase not made at any store
This gift no less worth so much more
Take a breath from rushing there
Reflect upon one thing your heart could wear
Christ who came to die for you
Birthed to share forever too
Some will come to know this day
To break of bread that also paid
An infant born who came to be
The Christmas gift, some still don't see
