'' Christmas Is Not About Debt ''
Christmas day is almost here,
Festive will and festive cheer,
On spending there is just no fear,
On this day there'll be no regret.
The kids will all get what they want,
Their new toys they will flaunt,
Your recklessness will come back to haunt,
With problems you'll be beset.
It's Christmas day so you don't care,
Worrying yourself sick just isn't fair,
Fears about tomorrow are very rare,
Your appetite has been whet.
Food and drink flow really fast,
How much longer can you last?
Soon this day will be in your past,
But in your ways you're set.
You'll worry about tomorrow, another day,
When the credit cards you've got to pay,
You wouldn't have it any other way,
You're caught up in the net.
Christmas is over the bills arrive,
How in Gods name will you survive?
A plan of action you can't contrive,
Now is the time to fret.
The gifts now lie broken and battered,
Seeing others happy was all that mattered,
Now you're the one left feeling shattered,
It's now you start to sweat.
You're up to your eyeballs with no way out,
Your very future is now in doubt,
No one's listening to the excuses you spout,
Your mistakes you can't forget.
It's a time of loving it's not about giving,
The message of Christmas is all about living,
Spending outwith your means can be so unforgiving,
