'' Will Make You Feel Warm Inside ''
This writing poetry isn't easy,
Do you keep it nice or make it sleazy,
A serious effort or really cheesy,
Regardless you won't be denied.
While some may like it others will ignore,
It could well be great or rotten to the core,
If you make sure humility is kept to the fore.
You won't ever need to hide.
Whether it's satire, fact or fiction,
For some it's joy for others friction,
Writing is truly a form of addiction,
Where common sense is rarely applied.
Just when you think you've got it mapped,
Suddenly wow? Your brain is zapped,
In writers block you become entrapped,
You'll wish that you had died.
As you try to keep it short and neat,
Soon most of your poem you have to delete,
When your brain refuses to admit defeat,
The words just seem to glide.
The finished article is published and read,
You think your demons have been put to bed,
Some of the critique fills you with dread,
It's a serious blow to your pride.
At your lowest point you want to give in,
You feel it's a battle you cannot win,
Then you feel new verse come from within,
To keep writing is what you decide.

Remember dreams of riches rarely come true,
But that finished article that was written by you,
