Happy New Year!


To the old year I tip my hat and say

Auf Wiedersehen
Adieu
Arrivederci, ciao
Shalom
Goodbye



Auld Lang Syne

Today we bid the old year goodbye - A new one begins
We have a clean canvas to fill with hues of our everyday lives

Many events happened over the past years that were sad
Much happened that were reasons for rejoicing

We can only look back over those days that are gone
The heartache will fade with time - so the poets say



The joys will be memories we will take out and revisit
We will talk and laugh about them with our love ones

Some of our love ones are suffereing sickness and heartache
Today I pray they can make a new start
to be healed and to have their joy restored



It is a time for New Year's resolutions  
I will spend more time with those I love

I will be kinder to those I come in contact with
I will try to learn something new each day

To encourage and built up and remember to say
"Job well done"

To let all I meet  know they are special
and God loves them



Today is a day of reflecting on what was and what can be
We have no control over yesterday - it is gone

Today is all we can be sure of
Time is our enemy - but also our friend

We must learn to forgive each other's faults
We must learn to forgive ourselves for our shortcomings

To love our neighbor as ourself and
To love God with all of our heart - mind and soul
