Love Story - Variation One
I won't love you
She said
As they lay sprawled
On her great double bed
Each one bathed
With the other's sweat
After love making
Too Intense to forget
I won't love you she said
For although an unloved wife
She was a young mother.
In her other life.
So sort out your clothes
from mine on the floor
Quickly get dressed and
I'll see you to the door
So he strode off into the
Early autumn night
Too proud to turn so didn't know
She'd watched him out of sight
Or about the river of tears
That had traced
Their unwiped tracks down
Her sad white face.
She said
As they lay sprawled
On her great double bed
Each one bathed
With the other's sweat
After love making
Too Intense to forget
I won't love you she said
For although an unloved wife
She was a young mother.
In her other life.
So sort out your clothes
from mine on the floor
Quickly get dressed and
I'll see you to the door
So he strode off into the
Early autumn night
Too proud to turn so didn't know
She'd watched him out of sight
Or about the river of tears
That had traced
Their unwiped tracks down
Her sad white face.
