The human body is not made, Up of only one body part; Sort of like an army brigade, With the captain inside the heart. What if some parts decide to leave, For example the eye or ear; If Satan wanted to deceive, How will you shun not see or hear. If the foot wants to run away, Making it difficult to walk; Being vulnerable to stray, Without any lips no could talk. If my arm did not have a hand, To our Lord how could I pray; Without my legs how could I stand, Having no tongue I could not say. Without a nose how could I smell, With no mind how could I control; Without the lips how could I tell, My God abide within my soul. For my ears cannot ever see, And my eyes cannot ever hear; My foot does not hold the key, To unlock what I hold so dear. There are many parts work as one, And all parts must be disciplined; In order to get the job done, So none of them must not have sinned. One body with purpose and goal, Holy Spirit and the Father; With Jesus Christ within your soul, All able to work together. Copyright ©2013 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
