Bought and sold

There is no end to all that we wish for
there is never and end to all that we need
the earth cries out but very few will listen
each life entangled in all that they'd weave.

There is no more a wish list named greed and desire
each one of us an image of what not to be
but soundly we sleep in comfort and safety
while our wish list gets bigger each time that we dream.

Big houses, big cars and aircraft with bathtubs…
all at our fingertips if we're laden with gold
yet still there are children dieing from hunger
while the big houses and cars are still bought and sold.
