Each day I find myself thinking of you
and remembering your heart of gold,
your spirit that rose to so much greatness
and your soul that braved all the storms of life.
When your spirit flew away home that afternoon,
I remembered all the many phone conversations
when I told you how very much I loved you
and how I sat in your car laughing at your silly jokes.
There are times when I have ached to hug you close,
to be dancing across the dance floor with you again
and rediscovering each other as we did at your wedding.
I have finally learned, Dad, that no one is alone.
I can feel you beside me at times and in different places.
I hear the soft fluttering of your angel wings
and can often feel the lightness of your angel kiss.
I wrap myself up in your love and awake to a better day.
