SHE WAS STILL MY SISTER

 SHE WAS STILL MY SISTER

My sister died on the 5th January
This came as quite a shock to me,
We fell out about 12 years ago
And hadn`t spoken from then `til now.

She had red hair and the temper to match
No battles scars not so much as a scratch,
Strong willed was she and I no match for her
We were really quite an odd pair.

Chalk and cheese is how I`d describe us
I was the quiet one I wouldn`t make a fuss,
We would fight but I never did win
It was much easier just to give in.

And our Linda was a very good actress
She played dead and I was in such distress
We were kids and I did shout and bawl
This got us both into trouble I do recall.

She was my sister no matter what
She was the only sibling that I`d got,
Now she`s gone another link is broke
It was a shame that we never spoke.

Through all the good times and the bad
She was the only sister that I had,
I`ll miss her knowing she`s not around
For she now lays silent in the ground.
