your heart has a message for you brother

thinking of you
yes you
dominate
my thoughts
this morning

how you used to
smile

and how that smile
of yours
would spread across
your angular face

a smile
I rarely see
and worry now
I may never see
again

you dominate my thoughts
this morning
as I sip my coffee
sit at the table

you are
goat brother
we are
tethered at the heart

our thinking is not so
far apart
as your thinking
would make us be

I am wishing you peace
I am wishing you sweet release
no more cares to cloud your days
no more pains to cramp
no more fading away

I would give it all
to you with one
magical wave

or with the rub
of a lamp
I would be there at your side

then clear the cobs webs from your sight
and give you the birthday gift
worth giving

you dearest brother
have a life worth living

if I could take this balled up
fist of love
and transplant it
into your chest

you might be reanimated
feel the world beating again
within your breast

your heart would speak to you
once again
saying:

I love you
I love you
I love you
