A Dream

          A DREAM

I had such a wonderful dream!

You were singing in my heart

Of things that meant so much,

          Ideas that were only vague

          Became focused into Truth.

I am with you all the time

          In some perfect Golden Age.

          It seemed so very natural

          To sit beneath Summer Trees

          And talk amongst dawns chorus

And the melody of running brooks

          Of poetry and fairyland visions,

Of love and our secret wishes.

          Beauty stole across your face

          As sunlight illuminated your eyes

And your smile broke into my sorrow

Taking away all the fear I ever had.

As time passed the stars bathed us

          In their tender silent radiance,

And as I opened my eyes at last

          The moonlight was carressing you

And a longing followed me  into the day.
