Part Two…The Jordan River’s Ready

In a previous poem
I expressed my dismay
With churches in general
And the preachers who prey

On congregations so needful
Of a gospel that’s sound…
And with ungodly government
Who has put my God down.

While all of it’s true
And my convictions still hold…
There are always two sides
To every story that’s told.

Because for each politician
With an ace up his sleeve…
There is one who deals straight
With no thought to deceive.

And for every imposter
With a Bible in hand
There’s a good honest pastor
Who will faithfully stand

On the true Word of God
To deliver it well…
Who will lead souls to Heaven…
Warn them about Hell.

I am simply a poet
With a calling to write.
I’m no prophet or preacher…
I just bring words to light.

If you believe in my work…
If it’s of worthy content…
If it’s truly of God…
Then my time is well spent.

The Jordan River is ready
As I’ve stated before…
There’s another Word waiting
To help us cross to that shore.
