**Abridged Quote from (Our) Statue Of Liberty
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free..
send these, the HOMELESS to me."
Sweet Land Of Liberty
Another immigrant fired today
He is my brother -in-law
Doing his job, your and ours
Under the waving flag of stripes and stars
For a salary lower than what I made
Sitting here, a white princess, on ssdi
While he was doing what I cannot
Working not only his, but my piece of the American pie
Looking down on me, he does not..
All the immigration laws changing
Getting harder to keep up and roll with the punches
But I see them, working harder x two
At the same price or lower
To feed the family, he has too..
To get to the courthouse by 5 (lately 3)
What should he do?
Last time I checked they're not open weekends
A solution there is hard to see..
I know no one person is completely innocent in this
But 14 of those years were his..
As a supervisor not just a side worker
How can we, they and us fix this?
No one person the problem shirker..
But right now we
Should shoulder the blame..
Getting rid of the people who help us
Do the jobs we can't or won't, shame
I feel shame- do you?
I know things cannot remain the same!
We keep on like this and the whole "boat" sinks
We all go down in flames!
Not just my brother
Who is a beacon, more than me..
To what made our American flag fly.. Our country, tis of Thee!

Mother of exiles, from her beacon hand glows World Wide Welcome!"
