i was in the garden on a summers night
when suddenly i saw something shining bright
i got a little closer then i saw a squirm
then i saw glow coming from a worm
roaming round the soil glowing in the night
such a pretty thing and such a funny sight
digging in the ground with his little feet
hoping he could find something he could eat
i watched him for a while attracted by the light
this funny little creature filled me with delight
then he disappeared and went out of view
a glow worm in my garden to me was something new
