A truthful witness speaks frankly,
Praising the Lord so thankfully;
He sees the truth as the just way,
The straight and narrow not to stray.
A lying witness is corrupt,
And always likes to interrupt;
Another with their train of thought,
And boastful on what they are not.
For it is their bad attitude,
That makes them seem to be so rude;
As careless words stab like a sword,
Conversation on a discord.
But the words of the wise have zeal,
That the wisdom brings as to heal;
Words that makes hostilities cease,
For bringing everlasting peace.
The word of truth lasts forever,
Words that are strong will not sever;
Because with God they form a bond,
That untrue words cannot respond.
Lying tongues last only a minute,
And scorned by the Holy Spirit;
But the aftermath will prolong,
Having something said that was wrong.
For lips that lie disgusts the Lord,
Since it is not of one accord;
But the truth is such a delight,
Because the Lord knows it is right.
