My favorite program was Gun Smoke
When the music played----in my mind I was riding a beautiful
stallion the color of golden hay
The wind blowing in my face and hair
Up and down the hillside I did ride
Then of course my prince charming would appear
Together we would ride and race across the hills
When I grew up my prince charming did appear
not on a white horse
He drove a cream and tan colored Oldsmobile
He didn't have on blue jeans and boots
He wore corduroy pants, penny loafers and v neck rust color sweater
that matched his hair and made his blue eye dance
Together we rode up and down distant hills
discovering many things
After sharing years together our hair and frames
have changed from the glory days of our meeting
I discovered that Knights in shining armor sometimes wears khaki
Instead of riding a steeds he now drives a Buick
Some things are better than youth
