The day draws near to shower one
Her special, her someone
With gift and flowers scented with
A scent their own for mate to give
Yet in our rush to spell how much
We love them so, maybe our touch
Has lost contact before this day
Forgetful seems the path we stray
Acknowledge them throughout the year
Not just this day, those you hold dear
For every day is not to squander
This gift of life and love to ponder
Each day you wake before you go
For work share hugs to let them know
How much they mean the world to you
The need to hear, that I love you
A stroke of hair by hands that take
A scent of them through day partake
To breathe of them while your away
Away from them throughout your day
A touch upon their face caressed
Assures their heart you love no less
Than when you met that holds this day
Your captured heart, now and always
That growing old has not become
Of love you share with them the one
Tell her, tell him not just this day
The role in life, the role they play
Inside of yours that keeps alive
The soul in you, the reason why
Happy Valentines Day!
