Back In The Day
To my twin sons Billy and Glen on their 44Th birthday today the 20/2/14 Happy birthday love always from Mum xxx
Their was no way back in the day
They could tell if lad or lass
But you were born two bonnie lads
And came top of the class
People said now who is who
For never could they tell
Which was Bill and which was Glen
But I knew you so well.
Years flew by you walked and talked
You were so good for Mum
You had the teachers fooled at times
And both had lots of fun.
You began to show your muscles
As all wee lads will do
And `though you weren`t very tall
There were two of you
So few kids gave you trouble
As you went off to school
For they had two to deal with
That was your golden rule
You married and had children
And each a set of twins
`though neither set identical
That's the funny thing
You are now both forty-four
Yet I remember still
That day back in seventy
I gave birth to Glen and Bill
Billy was a soldier
For nearly fourteen years
Then became a teacher
Instructing on the gears
Glen trained hard, became a chef
Then moved to cyberspace
Now he cooks technology
In his working place
He manages the area
And does it very well
Proud of what my boys can do
But the truth to tell
I wish that they were wee again
Yes back in the day
When I would teach them how to sing
And they`d go out and play
So my sons I hope you will
Make all your dreams come true
And not forget I love you so
Whatever you may do.
