 I  Met  God  Today  ( Revisted )
I  met  God  today, in  an  unexpected
Place, no  stained  glass  windows, no
Alters  to  kneel  before, no  worn
Hymnals, with  pages  torn

I  met  him  as  he  walked  the  halls  of
A  hospice  ward, where  a  wife  with  five
Kids  told  her  Husband  to  stop  fighting
To  close  his  eyes  and  go  home

I  met  him  as  I  watched  a
Fireman, burned, and suffering  from
Smoke  inhalation, carrying  a  child
from  his  burning  home

I met  him  in  surgery  where  a  man
Had  given  a  kidney  to  a  stranger
He'd  never  meet, simply  because  it
Was  the  right  thing  to  do

I  met  him  out  on  a  battle  field
As  he  pushed  a  fellow  soldier  out
Of  harms  way  and  threw  himself
Onto  a  grenade

I  met  the  LORD  as  he  stopped
The  earth  from  turning  on  it's
Axis, picked  a  little  sparrow  up
In  his  hand  and  placed  it  to
His  bosom

I  met  him  outside  of  a  church, where
He  sat  weeping, a  church  that  had  a
White  shirt  and  tie  rule, I  looked  down
At  my  clothes, and  I  wept  too.
