there is a little dog i think he is a stray
he sits on my doorstep and wont go away
he sits and stairs at me as if to say hello
who the dog belongs to i really just dont know
so i took him in and gave the dog a treat
he cuddled up to me and laid down at my feet
made himself at home as happy as can be
happy and content and brought a smile to me
i think that i will keep him and with me can stay
now he has a home and no longer has to stray
