 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove

With our tongues we praise,
Our Father and Lord;
As our voices raise,
Because they are adored.

Yet with our same tongue,
We also curse people;
As vulgar words are flung,
After singing Gospel.

We, who were created,
In the likeness of God;
Yet we have violated,
Causing us to be flawed.

Having praise and curses,
Coming from the same lips;
To sing slander verses,
Just like poison one sips.

These things ought not to be,
And they should not happen;
Two sided faces are we,
With a loaded weapon.

Like a polluted creek,
That you try to make clean;
But you have a fuel leak,
And making a worse scene.

Can a grapevine grow figs?
Or apple trees grow pears;
Can you get beef from pigs?
Or happy if one swears.

Can fresh water make salt?
Salt water yields not sweet;
So if you will exalt,
Stomp swearing with your feet.
