Autumn Crisp, Colorful Season

Happy 95th Birthday

Deep Deep and Deeper

Jan Jan

The Girl In The Picture

Blue Skies Forever Gray

I Wear A Mask

A Heartfelt Quote

It's Never Goodbye

Where???

Twilight Years

March Winds

Hello March Winds

Your Smile

Missing You!

Orange Leaf Maple Tree

A Sure Sign Of Autumn

Dishes Waiting To Be Washed

Is Silence Golden?

Begin Anew

The Birds

Life Is Like A River

Heartbreaking

Orange Leaf Tree

Memories

Grief

Summer Is Ending

Nature Spoke To Me

Chilly Autumn

Fly Away

I Miss

Without You

Woman By Mantle

light rays photo: Stained Glass Iris with Streaming Rays of Light IriswithStreamingLightRaysResizedbyChristi-Dove.gif
I was inspired to write this poem from observing an image by Brian Brosmer. The title, "Woman By Mantel."

Above her head over the mantle
There is a picture
A cozy house sits back in the picture
The sky is clear, very few clouds
Trees are all around,
The sun shines bright
The picture is framed in gold
Beside the picture is a lamp
The lamp gives light
Below is a fireplace
It gives light and warmth
The woman standing by the mantle
Poses to have her photo taken
She smiles,
Her smile looks warm and radiant
Her face beams and glows
As light surrounds and shines on her.
She is wearing black framed eyeglasses
Her hair is brown
It is curled and loosely hangs down
Above her shoulders
She is wearing red lipstick
Around her neck is a gold beaded necklace
She carefully chose her clothing
For her photo,
She is wearing a black polka dot
light weight jacket
A black dress
Her hands are folded
The woman by the mantel
Lights up the entire room
The woman by the mantel
Is light
