It would seem only yesterday
For the fourth year in the row
I sat in awe at the Celtic Thunder concert
Amazed at the style and grace of
five great Irish singers
The leader a Scottish Irishman,
The oldest and lead singer
Who sang in the style of telling stories
George Donaldson died today
At the tender age of 46
I remember sitting in awe as he sang
"Me Old Man!"
Thinking of the important men in my life
My stepdad alive and living at 100 years
And those who passed before him
T-Fred one of the five partners
Who in a garage designed the Fenwick fishing pole
Who died at the tender age of 54.
Only the good die young
Celtic Thunder comes down today
In the voice of a great singer song writer
"May you be in heaven a half hour
before the devil knows your there."
